Super hot day for a super fun all day field trip to the fabric district in Los Angeles with 18 students.

So much fabric, so much temptation but, I need more fabric like a hole in my head.

I stayed strong and purchased NOTHING!!

However, tomorrow is another trip.

This is my Three Graces cameo brooch that I desperately wanted in Rome but, it was WAY over my budget. Have seen ones on resale auction sites but, again the price went WAY over what I could pay. Imagine my total surprise when I found this one in a small jewelry store in my home town...

I held my breath as I inquired about the price and it was a super deal.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY !!!

And even thought the host made a BIG splash with his annual cannonball,

we left before dark.

and this is the year I realized I didn't even need to go on the balcony to watch the fireworks...

I could see them laying on my couch.

Getting my red, white and blue on one day early :)

Actually bought this blouse a couple weeks ago for the 4th of July but,

 it's 100% polyester + hot, hot weather = sweat

Can wear it to school because my classroom is air conditioned.

Today I did something I have never, ever done before...

I was a judge for the Orange County Fair!!

My division was Fiber Arts and Hand Crafts and 

I had 47 items to judge from clothing to crafts.

I thought this looked a lot like me,

or maybe this one resembled me more. 

LOL

Whatever !

It was great to play hooky from school and go the fairgrounds.
