Don't let the scarf fool you... it hasn't cooled down much at all!

But, scarves are my go to accessory to dress up my uniform of a simple t-shirt

and today I must sacrifice comfort for camouflage.

This t-shirt is from the Tim Burton exhibit at Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

Obviously I HAD to have it.

Tim Burton humor is hilarious and original.

And now for something completely different!

I got together some friends and talked them into joining me at 

a "Girls Night Out " cooking class at our local Sur la Tab Kitchen store.

We fearlessly sliced and diced and cubed and grated,

stirred and simmered and sauced some delicious small plate items.

I don't think we'll be winning any Michelin stars but, it was a really fun time.

It is so unbelievably hot and horribly humid that I invited my parents to the beach to cool off.

 Got an invite to Newport Beach to attend the opening 

of a new collection of outdoor sculptures.

It is so hot that my friend refused to go outside.

Quite a few folks did brave the 100+ degree weather 

The sculptures are large and memorable.

and were selected after a nationwide contest.

Once the weather cools down I will definitely return to 

the wonderful outdoor sculptures scattered along a rambling walking trail 

next to the new, beautiful Newport Beach Civic Center.

First Weekend of September

I've been home for at least two weeks so it was time to travel...

up to San Francisco to see my girlies

The fresh berry stand along the 101 is a great stop for tasty treats

Hello my darling daughter in her new apartment.

Made some new friends; am I that skinny? 

 LOL

Saw some sights,

Saw some cable cars

If you care what my girlies wear to be urban cuties

Chanced upon a super cool pop up store in Union Square 

for Marc Jacob's Daisy perfume

Next day it was off to a Farmers Market for fresh deliciousness

fresh, beautiful flowers

all at Fort Mason on a gorgeous day by the Golden Gate Bridge.

Everyone was very happy, happy, happy at the end of the day,

and for dessert- a nice slice of love!

September comes blazin' in with hot, hot, hot temperatures

and sticky, icky humidity

AND I had to park so far away it was a 25 minute walk to class...

resulting in some fierce blisters on my tootsies :(
