For the next 4 months I will leave my house at noon and not return until 10:30pm every Tuesday. Everything is happening on Tuesdays and today I was just not inspired.

So on cold, rainy today I got to attend the NAMM Show at the Anaheim Convention Center. It is extremely difficult to procure a badge allowing you entrance but, I guess I have friends in right places :)
NAMM Show is the " world's premier music products trade show, where manufacturers from around the globe come to unveil the hottest new gear "...and the public is NOT welcome.
Of course every single person was in black so I did feel like a parrot in a sea of crows but, hey I don't hang out with musicians very often!

The goods were all displayed so beautifully it often looked more like an art show than a trade show.

On a wet rainy Friday I had the good fortune to spend the day with my award winning quilter mom inside the Ontario, CA Convention Center at the annual Road to California Quilt Show. 

A fabric artists spectacular would be a better title.

Over 100 quilts, amazing fabric creations, dozens of vendors and hundreds of people.

It is quite a way to spend a rainy day

Today was the all important first day of classes.

 I always try to look smart, age appropriate and fashionable ( since I teach in the fashion department ) because I don't want the students to mock me behind my back! 

I would give this outfit a B+

Need a hand?

These cool chairs ( I hope they are chairs! ) are in the lobby of Hotelzoso in downtown Palm Springs. I think it would be brilliant to place a large head sculpture in between the hands like it's all one creation.

And I actually left my cold beach house in a sweater and warm scarf but, it was 81 degrees in Palm Springs!!!

This picture was taken at 10pm after a looonnnggg day of flex week meetings after meetings.
I was trying to work that whole southwest look that I think is going to be very popular this spring. Regardless of trends I love wearing my bolo ties and I've been wearing ankle boots forever.

I have not put on a drop of make-up since December 19, 2012.

Okay, now it's getting serious! I am going to my first city meeting of 2013 and decided to ' up my game '. Dress for success. Power suit. Serious clothes for serious people... I left my prior funky look at home and wore this navy velvet pinstripe blazer. Don't know if I impressed anyone but, I felt more grown up and serious.

Confession: Since returning from my vacation I have been a total slob! I pretty much just hang out in jeans, sweatshirts and Uggs all day :(  And I still have another week of school break- hope I remember how to look nice ( or at least groomed! )

I was shopping today with my daughter so I did make a minimal effort.
